ever since I first read Another Roadside Attraction over a decade ago, Tom Robbins has been my favorite writer. He describes himself as a zen hedonist and writes differently than any other author I've read. People either love him or hate him, which is fine, but I think it's worth giving a shot since he inspires such adoration in certain people (like myself). His essay on the soul and other books like Skinny Legs and All and Jitterbug Perfume, gave me a new playful and whimsical view of life that makes it all a little easier to deal with.
He has a new book coming out called B is for Beer, advertised as a children's book for grown-ups and a grown-up book for children.
Check out the first chapter from the publisher here:

Also, Tom Robbins is including Denver on his book tour (I didn't even know he did those... he's fairly reclusive). At the Tattered Cover in LoDo - 4/30/09 - 7:30pm. I will certainly be there!!
I found out that his publishing company is giving away promotional materials, and I have received from them a bunch of coasters and stickers of the book info if anyone wants some :)
